You will find the perfect combination of Europe and Thai architecture from many spot in the area. In the same compound you will be visited Wat Phra Kaew, an unquestionably one of the wonders of the world today. Within its enormous grounds is the most exotic Buddhist temple and at the heart of the temple itself is a fabulous Buddha image, carved from one piece of Jade, which is the holiest and most revered of religious objects in Thailand called Phra Kaew (or Emerald Buddha).
Discover the ancient capital of Siam (80kilometers north of Bangkok), Ayutthaya was so well endowed with temples that sunlight reflecting off their gilt decoration was said dazzle from three miles away; including Wat Mongkol Bobit, Wat Mahathat, Wat Prasi Sanphet and Royal Palace. Founded in 1350, Ayutthaya is a city of canals and temples, built at the junction of three rivers, canals cut into the landscape made Ayutthaya an island protected by fortified walls. Today it is a country town with an amazing collection of temple ruins and relics and UNESCO claimed that Historic City of Ayutthaya and Associated Historic Towns is one of the world heritages in 1991. Continue the trip to Pitsanuloke and overnight.
Visit Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mhathat or Wat Yai with the status of the Buddha named Phra Bhddha Chinnarat situated in the viharn is Pitsanuloke’s most venerated. Continue to Lampang and visit “Wat Phrathat Lampangluang”, the most beautiful and well preserved monument and its’ compound in Lanna style and enjoyable drive up through the scenery in an atmosphere of tranquillity to Chiang Mai City.
Visit Chiang Mai City Arts & Cultural Centre; discover the true identity of Chiang Mai, understand its history, customs, and way of life, arts and culture. The city tour will take you around the moat and the old city. Visit Phra Sing Temple, the incredible Viharn Laicome & Bot (an wooden old-Lanna style structure) with their unique architecture and mural wall painting. Wat Chadi Luang, famous for its gigantic ruined Chedi. Wat Chiang Man, contain the revered Buddha image; Phra Setang Khamani, supported to be very ancient & endowed with rainmaking. After dinner, you may continue with explore Chiang Mai night life on your own pace.
Start the day with the trip to the elephant camp (Chiang Dao Elephant Camp). Before the activities start, you will be able to see elephant daily bathing in the river. Then, the demonstration of how to use the elephant in the logging trade in the past and the elephant’s intelligent will start (1 hour). After that, you will be able to experience on the elephant ride through the jungle and in to the river. Relax with the bamboo raft down the river along the pure scenic (around 45mins – 1 hour) and then drive to the orchid farm to see more than 500 species of beautiful orchid. In the evening, your dinner will be served in a northern cuisine of “Khan Toke Style” with cultural performances.
Visit Doi Suthep Temple, a magnificent temple on the hilltop and overview of Chiang Mai City can be seen from the terrace and spend your afternoon with a tour to the colorful marketplace of Bosarng and the silk-producing town of Sankampaeng where you can watch craftsmen producing their colorful creation. This marketplace offers the walking tour of Home Industries Village, boasting a plethora of intricate fabric, wood carving, umbrella making, silver ware, lacquer ware and other gems of Thai handicraft.
Proceed to Chiang Rai Province by driving along the beautiful valley and mountain road. Take a break at the hot spring for morning coffee and then continue to Chiang Rai City to visit Pra Kaew Temple, where the Emerald Buddha was first enshrined. Early morning, transfer to Chiang Khong Border to board on a river cruise down the streams of Mae Khong River to Pak Beng. After passing through immigration, you will cross the Mekong River to Houei Say in Laos where your Lao guide will be waiting for you at the immigration. After completing border formalities, you will be board on a traditional boat for the trip down the Mekong River. Serene, timeless Laos is one of Asia's most unvisited and unchanged country where once-powerful kingdom known as Lane Xang (Million Elephants) was founded in the 14th century with the help of the Khmers and it went on to become one of the largest kingdoms in Southeast Asia until its demise in the late 19th century. Bisected and bordered by the Mekong River, omnipresent symbol of Indochina, Laos today is an amalgam of cultural influences; Theravada Buddhism, animism, France, and the socialist ideal. It is a peaceful place, and the legendary hospitality, resilience and friendliness of the Lao people is much in evidence. Laos is Old Asia preserved and as your journey down river you will stop at some tribal minority villages such as the Hmong, Yao and Khmu. Upon arrival in Pakbeng, transfer to the small resort for overnight.
After breakfast, as you sail down river as a second leg, you will pass areas of un-spoilt forest with little villages along the riverbanks and perhaps the odd elephant or two with his mahout. You visit a fishing village and a rice winemaking village and perhaps even taste some of the infamous beverage known as Lao Rice wine. You also visit the Pak-Ou caves, where thousands of Buddha statues are stored. You arrive in Luang Prabang around sunset and transfer to your hotel. This charming city of UNESCO world heritage site, The Luang Prabang is a small, dream-like town on the Mekong and Nam Khan Rivers, in a beautiful mountain setting. From 1353 until 1545 it was the capital of Lane Xang before power was transferred to Vientiane. Despite the move Luang Prabang remained the seat of monarchical power and when the kingdom broke up in 1694, one of the deceased king's grandsons established a rival kingdom to those in Vientiane and Champassak. Though weakened, the Luang Prabang royalty endured until 1975, when after the reign of 63 kings it was formally dissolved. You spend the day exploring the temples and sites in what is called one of the last Shangri-La’s of Southeast Asia. You will visit Wat Xiang Thong, the most important Buddhist monastery in the country. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Early morning, start with gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (ubiquitous sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the procession. At sunrise we climb the nearby temple-topped hill of Mount Phousi where you'll catch a lovely view over the town and the Mekong River and then, we explore, Wat Visoun, Wat Khili and Wat Mai. After lunch, we continue our excursion out of town to experience local lifestyle of the nearby village and visit the most beautiful waterfall in Luang Prabang. Along the way, visit Phosi Market, where you will see such diverse offerings such as dried buffalo skin, local tea, vegetables and hill-tribe products. Laos is also known for its traditional handicrafts and today we will visit the villages of Ban Ouay and Ban Thapene and the weaving village of Ban Phanom which are populated by Lao ethnic minority groups. We spend time at the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you can splash around in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest paths. We return to Luang Prabang city by late afternoon and visit the Night Market, where you can find the lovely selection of handmade textile by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
After breakfast, we visit the The National Museum (close Tuesday) at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of artifacts, which reflect the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign, including the Prabang, a large holy image, which was given in the 14th century by the Khmers to King Fa Ngum. The National Museum and the Central Market are not to be missed. We then take a short drive to Ban Phanom, a small village well known for its hand weaving. We visit these sights in the morning before catching a flight to Xieng Khouang. Xieng Khouang is a province located in the northeast of the country which was heavily bombed during the Vietnam War Era. On arrival we check in to the hotel, the rest of the day is free at your leisure. Overnight in Xiengkhoung.
After breakfast, we transfer out to visit the Plain of Jars, an impressive archaeological site encompassing hundreds of large stone jars scattered throughout the plateau. In the afternoon there will be time to see the old capital of Muang Khoun Province and its' nearby villages which are home to the Hmong hill tribe and Tai Dam people who possess an interesting local culture and a vibrant history. We then board our short flight to the charming and fascinating Lao capital Vientiane. On arrival we check in to the hotel. After short rest, we will visit the Morning Market and the weaving village of Ban Nong Bouathong. Overnight in Vientiane.
After breakfast, we see the major sights of the capital; including the oldest Wat Sisaket, the temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, we stop enroute to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. In the afternoon we transfer out to see the Buddha Park, a scattered enchanting collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures on the Mekong Riverside meadow, close to the Friendship Bridge. There are approximately 200 religious images dating back over 500 years, which were created by a mysterious monk spreading his philosophy on life and revealing his ideas about the universe. A spectacular view of over the Mekong River at sunset is a perfect way to finish the day. Overnight in Vientiane.
Transfer to airport for departure flight (QV512 / 06.00 08.35 / VTE – REP). After arriving in Siem Reap, you are welcomed by one of our tour guides who will take you to visit the Small Circuit such as Thommanun, Chao Say Tevoda, Takeo, Taprohm and then transfer to the hotel for check in. After lunch, visit the Main Circuit such as Pre Rup Temple, East Mebon Temple, Ta Som Temple, Neak Poan and Preah Khan temple and transfer back to the hotel. Dinner at the local restaurant.
Start your second day with a visit to the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphoun, Terrace of Elephant, Terrace of Leper King and Pimean Akas. After lunch, visit the famous temple of Cambodia, Angkor Wat, and it’s visually, architecturally and artistically breathtaking. It’s massive three tiered pyramid crowned by five beehive-like towers rising 65 meters from ground level and this temple is the centerpiece of any visit to the temple of Angkor.
Today start to visit the temple of Banteay Samre and going to the citadel of woman - Banteay Srei - jewel indisputable of the Khmer art: entirely have been constructed by hard pink sandstone, wonderfully sculpted, perfectly preserved and restored. On the way back you will discover a production of sugar palm that make by craftsmen (in dry season). After lunch, visit Srah Srang, Kravan and Banteay Kdey. Buffet Dinner at local restaurant with the Traditional Apsara Show.
Visit Rolos group as Presh Khor Temple, Bakong Temple, Loley Temple and after lunch visit “Les Artisans D' Angkor”, the school of art and then transfer to Pouk district, 15 Km from Siem Reap town, visit the breeding process and life cycle of the silk worm, collection of cocoons, separation and spinning the silk, and other activities made by hand and on the way back visit Baray and West Mebon.
Pick up from the hotel and travel to Phnom Penh by speed boat on the way visit Tonle Sap Lake, visit the floating village, mangrove forest, fresh fish exhibition and the activities of people’s daily lives. Upon arrival at Phnom Penh, pick up and transfer to the restaurant for lunch. Then, visit Independence Monument, Toul Sleng (Genocide Museum), Central Market or Toul Tumpoung Market and overnight.
After breakfast, visit Royal Palace & Silver Pagoda, National Museum and Wat Phnom. After lunch, transfer to the Phnom Penh Airport for the departure flight to Ho Chi Minh (VN-816/13.55/daily). Upon arrival in Saigon, pick-up at the airport and transfer to city for check-in. Time free for your own exploration of the bustling Saigon. Welcome dinner on Saigon River Cruise.
Morning excursion to Cu Chi underground tunnels located in an area known during the Vietnam War as the Iron Triangle on account of the strength of its Communist insurgency. The Cu Chi tunnel network was established as a means of waging guerrilla war against superior French and later American firepower. The network stretches over 250km and extends to three levels underground providing a remarkable insig ht into the method and determination of Communist forces during the Vietnam War. Return to Saigon for lunch. After lunch, enjoy a walking tour of Saigon most famous and historic city landmark –through the heart of the city along Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), past the Rex Hotel, Ho Chi Minh Square, Municipal Theatre and Notre Dame Cathedral. Following a tour of the Reunification Palace (formerly the Presidential Palace) and War Remnants Museum we drive to Cholon, the Chinatown district of the city where we visit the huge Binh Tay wholesale market and the ornate Thien Hau Pagoda, dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea.
The Mekong River is one of the world’s great rivers originating in China and making its way through Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and concluding its enchanting journey to the South China Sea in Vietnam s Mekong Delta. This morning we travel south from Ho Chi Minh City to My Tho, gateway to the Delta and Vietnam s agricultural heart. Known as the rice-bowl of Vietnam, the Delta is the most fertile region in the country, and Vietnam s main source of rice and tropical fruits. From My Tho, you board your boat and travel to one of the islands located in the middle of the Mekong River. On the island visit a fruit orchard and sample some of the local products such as handicraft made from coconut trees, coconut candy,... then board a smaller sampan that winds along narrow canals to quite villages to see bee-keeping farm. You'll also have the opportunity to enjoy some local hospitality with some tea or rice wine, fresh tropical fruits and traditional folk music performance. A typical lunch of Mekong delta farmers on island will be one of the unforgettable memories. Return to Ho Chi Minh City by late afternoon. Overnight in Saigon.
Morning transfer to airport for flight to Hanoi – VN214 (09:30-11:30). Upon arrival Hanoi, pick-up at the airport and transfer to city for lunch. PM. Enjoy tour of Hanoi: West Lake and Tran Quoc Pagoda, Temple of Literature, Old quarter of Hanoi. Enjoy water puppet show. Dinner & overnight in Hanoi.
Pick-up at your hotel in Hanoi and depart for Halong Bay. On the way to Halong, you will have chance to discover the exotic rural scenery and its life style. Photo stops are at disposal. Upon arrive Halong, embark on board and prepare for a wonderful cruise on the emerald Halong Bay. Welcome lunch with seafood is available for your enjoyment. Sightseeing in Sung Sot Cave, the most beautiful grotto in the Halong Area. Stop at Titop beach for swimming before sunset in Halong. Seafood dinner and overnight on board.
Morning waken up and enjoy the sunrise from the board. You will have time for relax on board, do sunbathing or kayaking on the bay (optional). You can be free to explore the numerous caves, deserted beach coves and hidden lakes where no larger boats could go. Enjoy lunch before disembarkation. Drive back to Hanoi for dinner & overnight.
